About Bhaaloo

Wildscapes

Bhaaloo Wildscapes is a garden design and consulting practice based in New Jersey, focused on creating outdoor spaces that support people, wildlife, and the ecosystems we’re part of.

This work sits at the intersection of ecology, design, and everyday life. The goal isn’t perfection or control—it’s relationship. Paying attention. Making thoughtful choices over time.

About The Founder

Hi, I’m Bhryan.

I’m a gardener, designer, and perennial student of the natural world. (I also make candles sometimes. See picture)

I see gardening as a way to connect with the world and its natural seasonal rhythms.

Although there is a lot of learning to be had through self-guided study and hands on experience (I’m working on it!), an opportunity to fast-track my education in this field is an opportunity worth pursuing. So I have my sights set on two professional certification programs from two different universities. I’ll be posting more about those on the Bhaaloo Wildscapes YouTube channel as I get into the coursework.

What does “Bhaaloo” mean?

Bhaaloo (baloo, bhalu) is Hindi for “bear.”

Meet Bear. A labradoodle. A companion. A best friend.

We’ve been together 15 years, so you can imagine what this smelly old fart means to me. I am not sure where I would be or what I would be doing if he wasn’t in my life. Although the only words he cares for these days are “walk,” “treat,” and “squirrel,” I felt it was fitting to name this next part of my life in his honor.

Love you buddy.
